RallySprint Event Rounds off Successful Year

Article text
Team Rallycards took on a new format of event the recent Gwynne Speed Rally Sprint, held near Cirencester, Gloucestershire.

Regular Navigator Andy Tomlinson, and former Welsh National Group N Champion John Lay shared the driving in the Rallycards Peugeot 205 GTi. The sprint event took in 9 runs per driver of the same 2.8 mile stage, held over a concrete base surface with some loose gravel. The variable surface made tyre choice difficult, and the team opted for Forest tyres.

After a steady start, the dry and clear conditions allowed the drivers to increase their performance throughout the day. The front wheel drive machine was suited to the more twisty sections that the venue offered, and was able to keep up with some of the more powerful four wheel drive cars taking part.

The car ran faultlessly all day, and despite Andy Tomlinson hitting a wall of tyres coming out of an open left hand corner on the fifth stage of the day, the consistent times provided rewarding top ten stage times for both drivers.

The car will now be placed for Sale. Click on contact page to request a viewing.
